– Your quilt sandwich
– Binding strips cut on the straight grain. For the quilted pillow I’ve used
– (2) 2 ¼” x WOF (width of fabric) strips
– quilting ruler, rotary cutter, pins or clips, heat erasable fabric marker
This is how you calculate binding yardage for any quilt size:
Measure the quilt’s perimeter to determine how much binding is needed. Add approx. 12” to allow for mitering corners and joining ends. After you have your total measurement, divide by 42” (WOF) to determine the number of strips you’ll need and cut as many strips as required.
