Lovely Little Patchwork Blog Tour

Hallo und willkommen bei meinem Stop auf der Lovely Little Handmades Blog Tour! Kerri Horsleys Blog war einer der ersten Blogs die ich entdeckt habe, als ich vor vielen Jahren in die Onlinewelt des Handarbeitens eingetaucht bin. Ich bin ein großer Fan Ihrer Arbeit und liebe ihren nostalgischen Stil!  Im Frühling dieses Jahres hat sie ihr erstes Buch mit Tuva Publishing herausgebracht. Lovely Little Handmades ist vollgepackt mit den schönsten Handarbeitsprojekten für jede Saison, für welche die unterschiedlichsten Techniken verwendet werden. Neben klassischem Patchwork gibt es Anleitungen für Englisch Paper Piecing, Foundation Paper Piecing, Applikationen und Stickprojekte. Es ist ganz sicher für jeden was dabei! Ich habe mich für die Herz-Untersetzer entschieden und hab dafür kleine Reste von Stoffen meiner beiden Kollektionen Bloom and Bliss und Backyard Roses verwendet. Und anstatt der großen Zackenlitze, Rüschen-Gummilitze als Umrandung gewählt. Und weil ich schon immer einen klassischen Pinwheel Quilt machen will, wird Kerris wundervolle Version meine nächstes Projekt sein. Und wenn mir irgendwann mal einer dieser tollen antiken Pflanzenkübel über den Weg läuft, dann gibt’s auf jeden Fall auch ein Nadelkissen!
Hello and welcome to my stop on the Lovely Little Handmades Blog Tour! Kerri Horsley’s blog was one of the first craft blogs I’ve discovered many years ago, and I’ve been a huge fan of her sweet and vintage-y style since then! In spring of this year she released her very first book with Tuva Publishing called Lovely Little Handmades. This book is jam packed with the most adorable projects for every season of the year. Besides from traditional patchwork, Kerri uses different techniques for her projects like Englisch Paper Piecing and Foundation Paper Piecing, Raw Edge Applique and Cross Stitching. There’s definitely something for everyone! I chose the Heart Coasters for my project and used some scraps from both my fabric lines Bloom and Bliss and Backyard Roses and some ruffle lace instead of ric rac. And since I’ve been wanting to make a classic pinwheel quilt for ages, Kerri’s adorable version will be my next project from this book! And if I ever come across a cute vintage planter I’ll definitely make a sweet pincushion, too!
