My Light Green Picnic Quilt Blocks
Two more Let’s Have a Picnic quilt blocks – this week in light green! Watch me stitch them up in this Reel on my Instagram Feed (click here). For these blocks I’ve only used fabrics which have been out of print for a quite while. I’m constantly amazed how many out of prints fabrics are still available on the market. These prints are from my stash, but haven’t been sitting there very long. I love buying fabrics and I’ve gotten pretty good at hunting down rare prints from fabric lines I missed some years ago!
My Fabric Selection
So, for the light green blocks I’ve used (from top to bottom):

Want to make your own picnic quilt?
The gingham pattern is a super fun quilt design where you can show off the prettiest prints from your stash! To make these scrappy blocks, you can either use Layer Cake squares, Jelly Roll strips or easily cut the needed strips from yardage. The blocks seam elaborate but are actually very quick and easy to sew (click here), thanks to the strip piecing method. The quilt measures 64 ½” x 80 ½” which is enough room to seat 4 people with the food in the middle.
